1. Our Commitment
Southgate Animal Hospital is committed to providing accessible and inclusive service to all clients, including those with disabilities. We strive to ensure dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity in all interactions with our clients, visitors, and team members.
2. Providing Goods and Services to People with Disabilities
We are committed to excellence in serving all clients, including those with disabilities, by:
- Communicating in a manner that considers their disability.
- Welcoming the use of assistive devices, service animals, and support persons.
- Making our facilities accessible and providing notice if any part is temporarily unavailable.
3. Assistive Devices
Clients are welcome to use personal assistive devices when accessing our services. We will ensure our staff are familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by clients.
4. Service Animals and Support Persons
- Service animals are welcome on our premises.
- A support person accompanying a person with a disability is welcome and will not be charged extra fees for accompanying the client.
5. Notice of Temporary Disruption
In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for clients with disabilities, we will post notices in a clear and visible place and on our website and social media, indicating the reason for the disruption, its duration, and alternative facilities available.
6. Training for Staff
We provide training to all employees on:
- The requirements of the AODA and its regulations.
- The Ontario Human Rights Code as it pertains to people with disabilities.
- Interacting and communicating with people with various types of disabilities.
- Using equipment or devices available at our clinic that may help with providing accessible service.
Training records are maintained and updated regularly.
7. Feedback Process
We welcome feedback on our accessibility and how we serve clients with disabilities. Feedback
can be submitted via:

Feedback will be reviewed by management, and clients can expect a response within 3 to 5
business days.
8. Availability of Documents
All documents required by AODA, including this policy and others related to accessibility, are
available upon request in accessible formats.
